Friends Pt 2 :Characteristics of a Good Friendship

last time i spoke about the influence that your friends have on you

today I will show features of a good friendship, because all friendships have characteristics which by reason of wisdom we can tell how weak, strong or profitable the friendship is

Characteristics of a Good Friendship

1. you are the reason you’re his/her friend. people become your friends for various reasons and these reason are important because it shows the type of friend you have, Delilah became Samson’s friend because he was just a task given to her. 4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver (Judges 16:4). 2.They are picky about who they follow or make friends with. they are people in this world who have or consider everyone to be their friend. those type of principled and are among the least in the earth, Nathaneal was a principled man and he didn’t want to just associate with anyone. 45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! 48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art nthe King of Israel. (John 1:49). Nathaneal didn’t accept Jesus Christ into his circle of associates until Jesus did what No mere mortal could do 3. They propel you in the right direction. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. (Psalm 122:1). David had associates who invited or propelled him into the house of the Lord, “were are my friends taking me?” is a question you should ask yourself daily

Ladies and gentlemen we may not choose our family but we can decide who our friends are and we need to choose wisely
