There are two types of ignorance
1. Blind ignorance
2. Deliberate ignorance
Blind ignorance is ignorance that comes when you don’t know what you said learn or know, a good example is when you have an exam next week but you don’t know what you are supposed to know. A good example of someone like this is Nicodemus because he was shocked when he learned that you have to be born again and Jesus was surprised that one of the leaders of Israel didn’t know such a basic thing.Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.(John 3:5-6),Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.(John 3:9-11).
Another good example of people who suffered from blind ignorance is the disciplines of Jesus Christ. When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.(Matthew 16:13-16). Only one out of twelve knew who Jesus truly was, others only had speculations. This is how many of us are to we only have speculations about the things we do or the people we follow but we know nothing about them. Apostle Johnson suleman once said that the devil does not live in heal but leaves in ignorance.
There is only one way to be free from blind ignorance and that is to seek wisdom. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.(proverbs 2:4-5)
