Things rejected by wisdom and spirituality : Lack of self control

Have you seen a man who is quick with his tongue? There is more hope for a foolish man than for him.(Proverbs 29:20 BBE)

When self-control is mentioned many think of having control of one’s temper but we need to know and understand that the opitamy of self-control is having control of your mouth/words. The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary:he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. (Isaiah 50:4)

One of high school if not primary school teachers once said that when people fight is because they did not manage to resolve their differences by words and also said that people who resort to violence are fools because their are not smart enough to use words to solve their problems.

If you want to go far in this life you must have full control of your hands, feet and mouth because it takes one action or one sentence to destroy your future. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.(Psalms 1:1)

A fool does not delight in understanding, but only wants to show off his opinions. (Proverbs 18:2)

It is foolishness to always what to speak your mind, only fools want everyone to know what their thinking. Check great men weather in the people of recent past it’s not everything that confronted them that they reacted to, train yourself to not respond to everything and to only talk when you have/need to talk

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.(Galatians 5:22-3 HCSB). Develop this fruit of the spirit and you will discover the piece and joy which comes when you don’t take everything to heart
