Things rejected by wisdom and spirituality : those who refuse to learn pt:b

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.(2 Peter 3:18)
All the older people I have met except for a few, always had an excuse for not wanting to learn a new thing and the most common excuse I heard is that “am a BBT”, and if you live or grew up in South Africa you know that BBT stands for Born Before Technology.
Ladies and gentlemen the season you were born into is not as significant as the season you are living in. So never use the old times to justify being stagnant in the present time. a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (ecclesiastes 3:1)
If you want to live your life in the most productive way, you must learn and understand how to relate with the past {
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. (Daniel 9:2)} , live
in the present { I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)} and plan for the future { Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; (Ecclesiastes 12:1)}.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.(Ecclesiastes 1:9)

The past events and experiences have their use but they do not hinder or take away the need of new knowledge.

He speaks about these things in all his letters in which there are some matters that are hard to understand. The untaught and unstable twist them to their own destruction, as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures. Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (2 Peter 3:16-18).

True growth is not in the number of years but in knowledge. An increase in the number of years is simply aging.

Seek knowledge and wisdom and you assured that you won’t be destroyed like the people in Hosea 4:6

if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.(Proverbs 2:4-6)
