Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.( James 4:7)
To resist means to refuse or to fight and as long as you are living on this earth there will always be things for you to refuse to do or accept and there will always be something for you to fight against or for. if you aren’t prepared for conflict you aren’t prepared for life.
One thing I personally hate and have accepted that I cannot totally avoid, is conflict. Always be ready for a fight especially if you are a believer because as a believer you will face that hardest of fights. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephessians 6:10-13)
Fighting is not always physical violence. You also fight with your mind and your words. You have to learn to fight against evil thoughts that come from the devil and people. Apostle Johnson Suleman once said that “life doesn’t give you what you deserve it gives you what you demand.” Look at what Jesus said in the book of Matthew when he learnt of the execution of John the Baptist after the he spoke about the greatness of John, And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12). It’s not how strong you are but rather the extent to which you willing to fight. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.( Ecclesiastes 9:11).
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. ( Genesis 32:26&28 )
Jacob the thief fought until he became Israel the prince. As a believer never be comfortable with being a spiritual civilian, learn to pray, start preaching to your friends and invite them to church so that their souls may be saved.
if you’re reading this and you have not given your life to Christ, start by fighting and winning the most difficult fight which is the fight for your spirit and flesh by surrendering your life to Christ today. FROM TODAY I’M YOURS AND I’LL LIVE FOR YOU, I THANK YOU LORD FOR MY SALVATION”.If you said this prayer and you have accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal Saviour, then please text “I recieved Jesus today” to the person who sent this teaching or comment on this blog post if you are reading it from http://www.softteachings.com
