Faith: what is faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.( Hebrews 11:1)

I what as to look at Faith, we’ll look at what is faith , why we need faith and how to obtain faith.

What is faith?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.( Hebrews 11:1)

Many might think that hope and faith are basically the same thing but I want to let you know that faith and hope are very different. According to the dictionary, hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen, according to Hebrews 11 verse 1 faith is a substance meaning that it is tangible. The tangibility of your faith is the abundance of the Word of God in your spirit, and it is also evidence meaning it’s an accepted, proven and undeniable fact.

Faith is a product or a possession for without faith no one can basically please God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.( Hebrews 11:6), and faith is a tool that can be used to obtain or gain something. As Christians, faith is our instrument of receiving from God and without faith you can’t receive what God has given to you.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
( Hebrews 11:1-2)

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.( Hebrews 11:4)

Faith is not just a tool that can be used for receiving from God but it can be used to obtain wisdom and understanding concerning the things of God and this world. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.(Hebrews 11:3), If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.( James 1:5).

Next time I’ll share why we need to have faith and God willing I’ll also share how to obtain faith. Shalom God bless you.
