Men lie to deceive

He feedeth on ashes:
a deceived heart hath turned him aside,
that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say,
Is there not a lie in my right hand?(Isaiah 44:20)

Last time we saw that men lie to get what does belong to them and the way to avoid this is to be content.

Why men lie

4. To deceive

All lies lead to deception. No matter the reason a person tells a lie, it’s power is in it’s ability to deceive.

The reason why people deceive other people is so that they can keep the truth from people, make them to see a lie as the truth and they won’t be able to tell the difference. On last week’s teaching I shared with us that the devil’s best tool is lying and he’s so good at using it that he fathers them, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.(John 8:44). The reason he uses lies a lot is because they give him the ability to present them as the truth, this is why there are many theories that try to “prove” that there is no God, heaven or hell. To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity:there is none that doeth good.(Psalms 53:1).

And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home. And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me: And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out. And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.(Genesis 39:16-19)

Joseph needed up in prison because his master’s wife succeeded in deceiving her husband and as a result he was angry at Joseph. And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.(Genesis 39:19). How many people are you angry with because of a lie that deceived you? You didn’t even want to hear their side of the story because you so believed a lie to the point that you didn’t want to hear anything else. The Bible advises us to hear both sides of the story before making a decision, He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.(Proverbs 18:13).

Some of you hate your father or mother because of something you heard about them, you didn’t bother praying or asking them directly but believed the words of your so-called “trusted source”. Ladies and gentlemen anyone that stears up hatred in you is a deceiver and should not be apart of your life, a good friend with tell what people say about you whether good or bad but that friend will make you that you don’t develop hate because of it. A good friend never turns you against another.

Ladies and gentlemen let us learn to seek out the truth because the truth is what will deliver us. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.(John 8:32)
